Why banding for health and personal care works

Health and personal care packs come in shapes that adhesive labels and shrink film struggle with. A tube rolls. A vial is round and small. A blister pack is rigid and awkward to grip. A band wraps around all of them without sticking to the product, so nothing has to be peeled off before use.

The band is also where the information goes. Batch numbers, expiry dates and barcodes are printed on it during banding, and a tamper-evident band shows at a glance whether a multipack has been opened. For toothpaste, toothbrush and diaper multipacks, the same band carries the promotional artwork that would otherwise need a separate sleeve.
