A label banding machine turns the band itself into the label, because the entirety of the band can be printed on. The wafer thin banding material offers many advantages in comparison to self-adhesive labels or sleeves. A well-designed band leads to a higher chance of being picked up from the shelves, meaning an increase in sales.

Printing while banding
Bandall doesn’t just offer pre-printed banding materials, additional printers make it possible to print (variable) information directly onto the band, during the banding process. This can be applied to a pre-printed, as well as an unprinted band. The Print & Band application makes your labelling process extra flexible. By printing variable information during the banding process, you will require less banding material in stock. This helps to reduce transport and storage costs. With any product updates, you won’t have to throw any material away!

Why choose a label banding machine
A label banding machine applies a printed band around the product instead of sticking a label onto it. The band holds the pack together and carries the information at the same time, so one machine covers two jobs that normally need two.
This matters most where adhesive labels struggle. Irregular shapes, soft packs, chilled or damp surfaces, recycled board with an uneven finish — a self-adhesive label lifts, tears or sits crooked on all of them. A band wraps the product instead of sticking to it, so shape and surface stop being a problem.
There is also less waste. Adhesive labels need a liner, and the liner goes straight to landfill. A paper or film band has no liner and no adhesive, and it slides off in one piece when the customer opens the pack.
Print on the band, or print in advance
Bands can arrive pre-printed with your fixed artwork, or stay blank and take variable data from an integrated printer during banding — barcodes, weights, batch codes, sell-by dates. Most operations use both: fixed branding printed in advance, variable data added inline.
Because the print job is loaded per batch, changing product means changing a file, not reordering label stock. You hold less material and throw away less when information changes.
