Dairy Banding for Multipacks and Trays

Dairy banding holds a yoghurt multipack, a cheese tray or a butter pack together with a band instead of a shrink wrap. On a four or six pot yoghurt pack, this is where the material saving is most visible: a narrow band across the pots does the same holding job as a film that covers the entire block.

The pots also stay visible. In a chilled aisle where flavour is chosen by the picture on the lid, wrapping the whole pack in film hides the thing that sells it. The band sits across the pots and carries the flavour mix, the offer and the barcode on a flat surface.

Chilled lines gain the usual advantage of running cold. There is no heat tunnel warming a product that has to stay at temperature, and no warm-up time at the start of a shift.

For cheese, the band closes a tray or wraps a wedge without adhesive contacting the product film, and the weight, the batch and the use-by print on during banding.

Chilled dairy often runs alongside meat trays and ready meal packs.
