Nuts Packaging Banding and Pouches

Nuts packaging banding turns singles into multipacks without a shrink wrap or an outer carton. Four pouches of mixed nuts, three tubs of dates, a gift set of dried fruit: one band holds the set and carries the artwork.

This category sells on what the product looks like. Nuts, dates and dried fruit are the packaging in a way that most products are not, and covering them in film works against the sale. A band leaves the pouches and tubs visible and puts the branding on a flat surface beside them rather than over them.

Pouches also present a practical problem. They are soft, they shift, and a shrink film applied to a loose stack pulls them out of alignment as it tightens. The vacuum feed guides the band around the stack without dragging, and the tension is set low enough to hold without deforming the packs underneath.

For seasonal and gift runs the print changes often. A new band file costs a print setup, not new tooling.
