Banding Textiles and Garments
Neat and tight bundles of textiles and laundry with a minimal use of material; this is possible with Bandall. Previously stacks of textiles and laundry were fully wrapped in film, now this is done with a simple strip of paper or film. Resulting in a big reduction in material. Worldwide, industrial laundromats are using Bandall bundling technologies for industries like airlines, hotels, and care chains. Manufacturers producing rugs and mats also use banding to keep the products rolled up. Usually replacing shrink film or plastic bags.
Where banding textiles beats strapping
Banding textiles means holding folded goods with a wide, soft band instead of a narrow plastic strap. A strap cuts into fabric and leaves a permanent crease line. A band spreads the same holding force across a much wider surface, so socks, towels, folded shirts and linen come out of the bundle the way they went in.
The band is also a printing surface. Size, colour, article number and the customer’s own branding go straight onto it, so the pack does not need a separate label or a header card.
Industrial laundries hold folded linen with the same wide band, and rolled mats use the same machine.
Sustainable packaging
Industrial laundries are increasingly switching to more sustainable packaging options. Pressure from clients and end customers play a role in this. The result is that piles of laundry are more often being bundled using paper bands in different places. This can be done with a pre-printed band with a logo or message, as well as with an unprinted band. With optional printing technology, it is also possible to print information on the band while banding.
